Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero is an American actress singer and former model. Her most famous work is the main character in Prince's 1984 Purple Rain film and lead vocalist in the girl group Apollonia 6 The group was just one of the female performers who gained from Prince's collaboration in the 1980s. Patricia Kotero was born in Santa Monica, California in the year 1959. Her professional career began as a model during the late 1970s. She also appeared on CHiPS. As the female protagonist of Prince's Purple Rain was her first performance from 1984. Prince changed the girl's name at this point. The actress replaced Vanity with the female trio Vanity 6 to perform in the film in the role of Apollonia 6 replacing Vanity. Sex Shooter, the group's minor hit song that was featured on the soundtrack, was her biggest chart success. Kotero broke off from Prince after an argument over the course of their careers. Apollonia 6 broke up after their fallout. Kotero then appeared in a few minor films in the late 1980s (reportedly not accepting the opportunity to appear in the follow-up to Purple Rain Under the Cherry Moon), before settling on an evening-time part in the drama Falcon Crest in 1985-1986. Apollonia released her first album in 1988, but it was not a great mix of dance and R&B music that failed to attract the attention of the general audience. The album quickly disappeared from view. During the following decade, she continued to be active as an actress (if she was a bit off the radar) and also in a few TV roles, movies as well as an exercise video. Apollonia produced a Spanish/English bilingual album called Stay With Me. When she returned to school and receiving an associate's degree in filmmaking and created her own business. Apollonia is an incredibly talented woman. She has been an actor, singer and model. Her role as an actor in the 1984 film Purple Rain made her a famous star. Her other films and television programs include Black Magic Woman, The Divorce Ceremony and many more. Kotero debuted her career as a model. Kotero was a contestant in a variety of pageants.
