Awkwafina

Awkwafina started out as an American musician and rapper performing sly tunes that dealt with questions of race and sexual identity with a comedic twist. Before expanding to Hollywood, she was able to make a few songs. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Korean immigrants living who resided in Forest Hills Queens. Her first exposure to music was through the instrument of trumpet. Then, she started traditional and hip-hop training. While in her schooling, she specialized in journalism and woman's studies. She also studied Mandarin for a while in Beijing. After graduating, she began to focus on music. My Vag, her track My Vag which was her reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick, became a popular viral sensation via the Internet and later appeared on her debut album Yellow Ranger. On the album, there was other hits that went viral, including Queef (body-positive) and NYC Bitche$1. The final track was linked directly to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide, which was published in 2015. Alongside having published a book and a singer, she was also a professional as a singer. In addition to early shows like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in movies such as Neighbors and Storks. The actress made headlines in the year 2018, with several high profile films, including Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
